Seminar Study: Eschatology- an Historical Reality
Text: Various
Speaker: Brent McCrory

There is a passage in Revelation that has baffled people for years. What do we do with the release of Satan in Revelation 20? Seriously, the phrases, “After that he must be released for a little while” (Rev20:3) along with “And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison…” (Rev20:7) are puzzling!

In light of their puzzling nature there is a lot of debate surrounding them; many give up understanding them all together. Yet certainly John did not write something with the sole purpose of being confusing.

In light of this reality we will look at bit at the flow of Revelation as a whole in this session; after all it is a message to be read, heard, and obeyed (Rev1:3). We will also look into Roman history for some help with Revelation 20, and the result is beautiful!

[NOTE: the information dealing with the “release of Satan” was taken directly from Dragons, John, and Every Grain of Sand – edited by Shane J Wood – an amazing resource for The Church.]
