It cannot be…
Many statements can follow the previous phrase. They might be statements of surprise, statements of excitement, statements of disbelief, or even statements of anger. All of these descriptors, and more, follow the phrase when the issue of Jesus being the only way to God is discussed. Some are bothered, even angered, by the narrowness of Jesus’ claim in John 14:6 (I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me). Others do not believe it and may point out the similarities between religions, or how good people can be found in religions other than Christianity. So what are we to do with this claim of Jesus?
Let us not forget that nearly 2,000 years ago this day people lauded Jesus as king as He entered Jerusalem. Some were ecstatic, others were upset; indeed, the claims of Jesus have always generated controversy. Yet the question still remains… what are you going to do with the person of Jesus?
