Worship is not about us...it is about God. Unfortunately there is much confusion about this in our culture…
Likewise, there is much confusion about "spirituality" as well. In fact, it is often claimed that “spirituality” will differ from person to person. Be that as it may, the reality is we live in an increasingly “spiritual” world in which, at the same time that a growing number are pursuing “spiritual things,” many are also walking away from The Church.
While we are all spiritual beings in a sense (cf. Gen1:26-27), Christian spirituality is unique. Additionally, it seems there is no worthy “spiritual cause” in the world that does not fall under the Lordship of Jesus the Christ. Granted, the pursuit (and understanding) of something that is spiritual may need tweaked a bit…but rest assured God is concerned about all things “spiritual” (e.g., environment, peace, love, calm, inner peace, etc.).
Another way of saying this; all “spiritual” concerns and pursuits people have can trace their roots back to God. On top of that, only He can allow the pursuit of what is “spiritual” to be fulfilling instead of a self-made prison. This truth makes the pursuit of “spirituality” outside of The Church so sad…people are committing themselves to a never-ending pursuit of sorrow if they seek “spirituality” outside of God’s will…
