  • Series: Pondering Prayer

"Why pray?"  It seems like an innocent question, but it is not necessarily easy to answer.  What is the difference between not praying and claiming to believe in prayer but yet not praying?  This question is a bit more pointed and not quite so innocent...

Prayer is _______.  Depending on who you ask the answer in that blank will vary.  Some may say "exhilarating," others may say "confusing," or "surreal," or "useless," or "humbling," or a variety of other answers.  Some, depending on which day you ask, may answer all of those at some point.

While this series will certainly not give us all the answers to prayer we may want, my prayer (part of them) is that it will be insightful and immensely practical.

PLEASE NOTE: The first two minutes of audio is extremely low, but it is fine after that.  Basically what had been said up to that point is: "Steve" is going off to a Liberal Arts College to study Philosophy & Biblical Literature, his parents are 'happy-yet-concerned'; "happy" because Steve is pursuing more education but "concerned" because they do not want their conservative Christian upbringing of Steve to be for nothing...
