Why do Christians say that Jesus is God’s Son? Good question. Let me start with this for now: You can attempt anything, once. I sometimes use this line of thinking with our children when they tell me, “Daddy, I really want to ______.” Usually this leads us into a conversation where I ask them what some possible outcomes might be of their decision. Sometimes they conclude it is not worth the risk, other times they conclude it is what they want to do.

So what does this have to do with Jesus and claims of His divinity? Anyone can claim to be God’s Son, or have others make the statement. Yet what are the results of such a statement? Well, in our day most would laugh. In Jesus’ day such a claim was explosive. In fact it got Him killed (hence “You can attempt anything once” above). So why is such a claim still made today about Jesus? Listen in as we continue to explore areas of doubt together.
