Messages of Hope
Dear Friends at New Life,
Who’da thunk it!!
I can remember gas rationing, sugar shortages, and a coffee crisis. I remember my parents talking about
“black-outs” during World War II and eating mac & cheese every day but I
never dreamed we would shut down church because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Church is important. It is how God works to bring us together
heart to heart for encouragement and to enjoy fellowship. God loves to hear our voices lifted in praise
and prayer. Things may be a little
different for awhile but make no mistake, church is not cancelled, it is
changed. We don’t know how long
this is going to last but that’s ok, we are flexible.
We know God’s Church dwells in the hearts of those
who follow Christ, serve Him willingly and grow spiritually. Church isn’t a building. Even though we won’t gather for corporate
worship there are things we can do to build each other up in the Lord and help
us to maintain our walk together.
- Watch the sermons and lessons posted on our
- Make an effort to call or contact
others in our church family, neighbors and friends to check on them…especially
some of our older folks who aren’t able to get out or who may not have access
to the internet. Maybe send a card of
encouragement. Download our Instant Church Directory. Kim Billings can help you
get started. Just call the church
- Giving. This is a part of how God works
in our lives. God blesses us when we
give, and he uses our gifts to bless others.
This crisis may present opportunities for us to help our families and
missionaries who may have greater needs at this time.

my beloved brethren, BE ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the
work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the
Lord.”I Corinthians 15:58
“and BE ye kind on to another, tenderhearted, forgiving
each other, even as God also in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
And if someone asks about your hope as
a believer, always BE ready to explain it.” 1 Peter
