Senior Minister

Jesus of Nazareth – aka Jesus the Christ

New Life is God’s Church (Acts 20:28). Jesus is the Good Shepherd (Jn10:11) whose death makes it possible to reconcile all things to God (Jn3:16; Rom8:20-22). The Holy Spirit empowers us for ministry (1Pet4:10).

Yet why do we claim Jesus as our “Senior Minister”? Peter says, “And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory” (1Pet5:4). The word translated as “Chief Shepherd” can just as easily be translated as “Senior Minister”.

Many times the Senior Minister is seen as “the guy” who is in charge of a congregation. We desire that person to be none other than Jesus. He is the example our elders, staff, and ministry leaders seek to emulate.

(Sorry, no photo is available – but Jesus did not have blonde hair and blue eyes, He was Jewish.)

Bob Griffin

Elder

Bob Griffin has been a follower of Christ since June 21st, 1979. He has been married to his wife, Cheryl,  since June 23rd, 1989, and combined they have six children and 16 grandchildren.

Bob leads men’s Bible studies and serves on the Worship Team.

His hope for New Life is for everyone to study the Bible on their own throughout the week in order to put what they’ve learned into sharing Jesus with the lost. Bible study, prayer, sharing the gospel and service will connect us to God in a deeper and more intimate way.

what we believe

ABOUT THE SCRIPTURES

The Bible is the inspired word of God – “A lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.”    (2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 119:105)

ABOUT Jesus

Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, who died for our sins and rose from the dead. (John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:1-8)

ABOUT HUMANITY

Every person has worth as a creation of God, but all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

ABOUT SALVATION

We believe that the Bible is essential in the Christian’s life. It teaches how one receives the gift of salvation and how to live as a believer.

Faith in Christ and His Gospel:  John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8, 1 Corinthians 15:1-8

Repentance from sin:  Luke 13:1-3, Acts 2:38, 2 Corinthians 7:10

Confession of Faith: Matthew 10:32, Romans 10:9,13, 1 John 2:23

Immersion into Christ:  Matthew 28:18-19, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, 22:16, Romans 6:4

Living a Christ controlled life:   Matthew 5:16, Ephesian 2:10, Colossians 3:1-2, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Revelation 2:10

ABOUT THE CHRISTIAN LIFE

We believe that all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily submitting to the Holy Spirit, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Jesus and His Lordship in their life.

ABOUT THE CHURCH

The Church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to evangelize the lost and edify the saved.  (Ephesians 1:1-16)

Jesus Christ will one day return. We will meet Him in the air and will be with Him forever.     (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)
